Seibukan Jujutsuis an effective and practical martial art developed for self-protection as well as personal development.  Based on ancient tradition, Seibukan Jujutsu has been developed to meet the needs of the modern day warrior.  Its Japanese roots, philosophies, and the Seikendo healing art, make it unique among other systems.  The name, Seibukan Jujutsu, describes the art.  Seibukan means (Sei= correct, Bu= martial, Kan= house) the house of correct martial arts.  Jujutsu means (Ju= flexible, Jutsu= art) flexible art.

Enshin means the center of a circle, and Battojutsu means draw and cut sword art.  As Enshin means, the emphasis of the art is to place ;yourself in the core of a circle by being aware fo the surroundings and the energy flow.  Also in this art the speed of drawing anc dutting the opponent is another emphasis.  Machida Soke trained himself to draw, cut and put the sword back in the scabbard within 2 seconds and that horned skill is expected to be attained among the higher ranked students.

This art consists of the three basic practial skills: 1)  Kata, a set of solo pre-arranged movements using a Iaito (practice sword), 2)  Kumitachi, practical application against an attacker ( a training partner) using a bokken (wooden sword), 3)  Tameshi giri, cutting a target using a Shinken (a real sword) to perfect the cutting skills and develop the mental focus.

The philosophy of the art includes: relaxation, distance, timing, focus, concentration, confidence, presence, intention, accuracy and intensive energy.

Practiced at a slow and even speed, Tai Chi promotes relaxation, straight posture, and balance.T'ai Chi movements are widely acknowledged to help calm the emotions, focus the mind, and strengthen the immune system. In a very real sense, T'ai Chi helps us to stay younger as we grow older, thus making an outstanding contribution to our overall health and well-being.
