Ballet/Jazz classes are a combination of ballet, jazz and tumbling for ages 6 years and older.  The tradition and discipline of ballet and the dynamics and excitement of jazz.  Classes are offered for different age groups and at different levels.  Classes are $40/month.  Amy Lindsey, instructor.  Call #333-1592 for more information.

Pre-Ballet classes are for 3-5 years.  This class starts with simple movements to music and tumbling.  Simple ballet exercises are introduced.  Classes are $40/month.  Amy Lindsey, instructor.  Call #333-1592 for more information.

Ballroom/Social Dance is a partnership dance instruction which allows students to learn the basic foot placements and patterns to dance.  Swing, waltz and other styles are introduced.  $45.00/month.  Instructor, Tammie Press, is a 3-time National Ballroom Dance Champion.

Sept. - Bolero
The most romantic and passionate of all the Latin dances. Great for slow dancing to contemporary music, as well. Learn the fundamentals for all other Latin dances while discovering the fun and romance of dance.

Oct. - Swing
There are 8 major types of Swing. We will be doing Triple-Step Swing (East Coast) because it is the most versatile of all. East Coast Swing is adaptable to all swing styles, including Country, and is fast, fun, and considered the foundation for all of the other swing styles.

Nov. - Waltz
The most popular dance of the holiday season. Prepare for all of the balls that are coming up through New Year's. Even though it is considered slow, Waltz has been reported as one of the ballroom dances which offers the best exercise, as well as the starting place for all good dancers to learn how to lead or follow everyone.

Dec. - Cha Cha
The most popular Latin dance; second only to Salsa. Cha Cha is fast, fun, upbeat, and has lots of movements and turns. Many of today's songs have a Cha Cha beat if you know what to listen for. Get ready for the holiday parties...learn Cha Cha.

Gymnastic dance and tumbling includes tumbling combinations and dance tumbling combinations. Students will learn choreographed dances and gymnastic floor routines in addition to beginner tricks.  Tumbling develops strength, coordination, flexibility and builds self-confidence.  For both boys and girls.  $40.00 per month (family rates available). Contemporary Dance/Drill is a style of theatrical dancing that is not as restricted as classical ballet. Sometimes it takes the form of 'modern dance' or gives an interpretation of music or thought. Stephanie Wonchala, Miss Alaska 2005 and former member of several dance/drill teams, including the Chugiak Chaparrals, instructor. Stephanie is currently a member of UAA's Dance Ensemble and will be competing in the Miss America pageant. $40/month.

*All classes require a $25/year AMAC registration fee. Fee is pro-rated if you begin in September.
