COVID-19 Mitigation Plan for Alaska Moving Arts Center 
 
Before reopening to the public we have cleaned and disinfected all surfaces including but not limited to the furniture, counters, floors, mats and all bathroom fixtures. Closed the office to students and parents to limit touch contact. Posted a sign that the snack purchase area is closed until further notice. Removed shared toys in the waiting area. Reduced the number of chairs in the seating area to encourage social distancing. Removed books and magazines  Rendered the water fountain inoperable. Removed the curtains enclosing the dressing area, rendering it inoperable except as an access to the restrooms. Marked designated spaces for students that are at least ten feet apart. Communicated implementation of new procedures with the instructors, students and their families. Provided training on all COVID-19 precautions to staff. 
 
When we reopen we will Schedule classes to allow for the space to be cleaned between classes. Accept only currently registered students for classes. Students will be given a verbal health screening before participating.  Students who have traveled out of the state of Alaska within 14 days of the class will not be permitted to attend Notify students to come to class in their dance/workout clothes or gi wearing a face mask. Keep a supply of soap and water as well as hand sanitizer available to participants. Keep accurate records of students and observers including first and last names with phone numbers.  Encourage student drop-off at door; students who need a guardian to stay with them have only one person accompany them to class. Encourage instructors and students to wear face coverings.  Encourage frequent hand washing for instructors and students. Enforce physical distancing of ten feet for students during class. Implement touch-less payment systems. 
 
Cleaning and disinfecting- We will continue to clean and disinfect all commonly touched surfaces such as light switches and door handles frequently. Classes will be scheduled to accommodate adequate cleaning between.  Each instructor will be responsible for cleaning after their class and record it in the cleaning log. The bathrooms will be cleaned regularly, when the center is open, with a disinfectant containing bleach. 
Any mats or equipment that is used will be disinfected between participants. Equipment will not be shared outside of household members and will be adequately spaced for social distancing. We will conduct a weekly thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces following the guidelines issued by the CDC for combating communicable diseases or​ ​schedule classes during the week allowing for a 72 hour period of time for natural disinfection. 
 
For instructors- We will conduct a training of all the instructors who will be teaching as well as leaving a copy of this plan at the center. Instructors are to do a pre-class health screening and may not teach if they are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 or for 72 hours after exhibiting fever. Instructors may not work for fourteen days if they have been exposed to COVID-19 or recently traveled outside the state of Alaska. Instructors will be encouraged to maintain 10ft from students while class is in session. Instruction will be given without physical contact, relying on verbal cues and demonstration, unless absolutely necessary for the safety of the student. 
 
For students Families will be encouraged to drop-off students for class. Families will answer a pre-class health screening for students to be able to participate. ● Students who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed to COVID-19, or have traveled out of the state of Alaska within 14 days will not be permitted to attend class. Students are asked to arrive in clothing appropriate for class no more than 10 minutes before class and wear a mask upon entering and exiting the center. Social distancing will be maintained. ● Students will be required to stay in a space 10 ft from other students and instructors. Students are encouraged to wear face coverings during instruction. Hand sanitizer will be available 
 
 
In the event of a case of COVID-19 We will shut the facility immediately and remain closed until we are able to open safely for our community and ourselves.
