COVID-19 MITIGATION PLAN

On a Ongoing Basis Mitigation Procedures:

We will continue to clean and disinfect all surfaces including but not limited to the furniture, counters, floors, mats and all bathroom fixtures.

The office will remain closed to students and parents to limit touch contact.

The snack purchase area will remain closed.

We removed shared toys from the waiting area.

The seating area is arranged to encourage social distancing

We removed books and magazines

The water fountain will remain inoperable.

There will be marked designated spaces for students that are at least six feet apart.

We will continue to communicate implementation of new procedures with the instructors, students and their families.

We will keep all staff up to date on current procedures and policies.

Classes and Schedules:

Schedule classes to allow for high touch points to be cleaned between classes.

Health Screening Information will be posted at the entrance. Anyone who enters the building must be able to attest that they meet the criteria. Instructors may ask students or parents/guardians to confirm they have read the sign before class starts.

Follow current CDC recommendations, as posted on our website, for travel and quarantine based on vaccination status

Students will be notified that they must come to class in their dance/workout clothes or gi. Use of the changing area is discouraged.

Students and families will be notified that face masks are required at the discretion of the instructor. Use of facemasks is encouraged.

We will keep a supply of soap and water as well as hand sanitizer available to participants.

Instructors will keep accurate records of class attendees, any observers will be required to sign in with their first and last name, along with their phone number and what class they are observing.

We will encourage student drop-off at the door; students who need a guardian to stay with them have only one person accompany them to class. Guardians will be required to sign in for contact tracing purposes.

We encourage frequent hand washing for instructors and students.

We will enforce physical distancing of six feet for students during class.

We will implement touch-less payment options

Cleaning and disinfecting:

We will continue to clean and disinfect all commonly touched surfaces such as light switches and door handles frequently. Classes will be scheduled to accommodate adequate cleaning of high touch areas between.

Each instructor will be responsible for cleaning after their class.

The bathrooms will be cleaned regularly, when the center is open, with a disinfectant containing bleach.

Any mats or equipment that is used will be disinfected regularly.

We will conduct a weekly thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces following the guidelines issued by the CDC for combating communicable diseases or schedule classes during the week allowing for a 72 hour period of time for natural disinfection.

For instructors:

We will conduct a training of all the instructors who will be teaching as well as leaving a copy of this plan at the center.

Instructors are to do a pre-class health screening and may not teach if they are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 or for 72 hours after exhibiting fever.

Instructors who have been exposed to a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 must have a negative COVID-19 taken at least three days after exposure before they can return to work. They must self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and must stop teaching and receive another negative test if they start to exhibit symptoms.

Instructors must follow current CDC recommendations for testing and quarantine if they travel, both domestically or internationally. This may include the requirement of a negative test to return to work or a period of isolation.

Instructors will be encouraged to maintain 6 ft from students while class is in session.

Instruction will give instruction without physical contact, relying on verbal cues and demonstration, unless absolutely necessary for the safety of the student.

For students and Families:

Masks are required for anyone who enters the building. The Board of Directors will review this requirement quarterly or if there is a significant change in case counts in the Anchorage/Mat-Su areas.

Families will be encouraged to drop-off students for class.

Families will only enter the building and participate in classes if they can attest that they meet the requirements on the posted health screening information.

Students who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 must refrain from coming to class for 10 days or have a negative test 3-5 days after exposure and/or are no longer experiencing symptoms .

Students are asked to arrive in clothing appropriate for class no more than 10 minutes before class.

Social distancing will be maintained.

Students will be required to stay in a space 6 ft from other students and instructors.

Hand sanitizer will be available

In the event of a case of COVID-19, we will contact all those who were in close contact with the infected person, and follow CDC guidelines for quarantine. Staff is required to follow CDC recommended testing and quarantine, and only resume affected classes when all test results are negative and/or quarantine periods have been met.

By entering the building I can attest that I (or my child) has not, to the best of my knowledge, been a close contact to a confirmed positive COVID-19 case*, and I (or my child) is not experiencing any of the following cold, flu, or COVID-19 signs of symptoms:

Fever or chills

Cough

Shortness of breath

Fatigue

Muscle or body aches

Headache

New loss of taste or smell

Sore throat

Congestion or runny nose

Nausea or vomiting

Diarrhea

Increased sputum (phlegm) production

If you (or your child) are currently experiencing any of the listed symptoms and/or have been exposed to a confirmed positive COVID-19 case* please DO NOT enter the building. Please contact your instructor for current policies on when you (or your child) can return to class.

*If you or your child have been a close contact to a confirmed COVID-19 case, but have received a negative test 3-5 days after exposure, you are welcome to return to class.
